Brownies and Lemonade

Today is the last day of summer. I know it's a cliche, but this summer seemed to fly by. Although I am sad to see it end, I have a special treat in store for everyone who loves summer music.

So I've been doing this summer project on Brownies and Lemonade. Since the beginning of summer, I've been posting different summer themed music on the site. Specifically, everyday I post a song that would be suited to play on a warm summer day, either at a bbq, beach, pool party, or house party. You can go to the site and check out the daily summer posts. Some of these songs are classics from artists like Ice Cube, Dove Shack, Wham!, Raphael Saadiq, etc and some of these songs are current from artists like Neon Indian, Flight Facilities, Mayer Hawthorne, Drop Out Orchestra, The Cool Kids, etc. I have been doing this since June 22nd.

A lot of people like this summer tradition I began. People would come up to us constantly suggesting their favorite summer songs to include on the daily posts. It was awesome.

My buddy who spins and DJs suggested that we compile all the music I've posted and create a tightly mixed end of summer mixtape. He wants to do something like the summer mixtapes that Jazzy Jeff and Mick Boogie have released. I liked this idea and thought we should upload it on Soundcloud to distribute it.
