If you read one post that I put up this year make sure it's this one; the guy rapping is Miscrllanous and on the beats it's Bankal and together they're Chill Bump. Bankal is a genius when it comes to putting together hypnotic electronic rap beats and Miscrllanous can flow with the best of them, he switches cadences effortlessly, check out Occupy for my favorite example of it. They're all about the the disconnect between what rappers say and do in the rap world and the influences the media has on rap. But just because they don't talk about selling drugs and the girls they pull doesn't mean they can't swag out with the best of them " I spit a pinball rhyme Mc's are the target watch me score points" finishes Miscrllanous on Watch Me Score Points. Leakin', which is a reference to Don't Say Nuthin (love the Roots) is only a minute and fifty nine seconds but Tariq would be proud. I didn't know what to expect when I heard the opening to It's Alive ! it sounded like standard indie pop until about a minute and fifteen seconds in when my mind was absolutely blown. All of their EP's are free currently on bandcamp and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't check out at least Back to the Grain immediately. I have no context whatsoever for the this post, mostly because who expected french rappers to be the best, but I would love to see these guys make it big.
